Roy M. Cohn - Man, 50s. An extremely successful New York lawyer and power broker. He is magnetic, abusive, shrewd. He will not and cannot imagine being ordinary.
Joseph Porter Pitt – Man, 30s. Chief clerk for Justce Theodore Wilson of the Federal Court of Appeals. He is Mormon. He is a very straitlaced man, barely aware that other people may not be as ethical as he is. His worldview is narrow, and he wrestles with changes in himself and the world around him.
Harper Pitt - Woman, late 20s, early 30s. Joe's wife, an agoraphobic with a mild Valium addiction. She is frightened of the real world, but takes long journeys in her mind.
Louis Ironson - Man, 30s. Word processor for the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. Louis is gay, but reluctant to be out to his family. He is terrified of change, of illness, of his own character being revealed through adversity and found to be lacking.
Prior Walter - Man, 30s. Louis's boyfriend. Occasionally works as a club designer or caterer, but lives modestly. He has AIDS. His campiness disguises a deep authenticity and yearning for connection.
Hannah Pitt - Woman, 50s-60s. Joe's mother. She is Mormon and a widow. She is very down-to-earth and practical. She is guarded, not overly friendly.
Belize - African-American man, 30s. A former drag queen and Prior's former lover. He is a registered nurse. He is nurturing and fun, and sees what is really going on with Prior. He takes no crap from anyone.
The Voice/Angel - Woman, any age. A messenger who visits Prior. She is magnificent and otherworldly.
BOEING-BOEING by Marc Camoletti.
Dir: Neela Munoz
1st rehearsal : January 24. Runs 2/16 - 3/13.
PLOT: Paris, 1960s. Bernard is engaged to three flight attendants who work for different airlines. He keeps track of their comings and goings with the help of a giant timetable and his cook, Bertha. His old friend, Robert, comes by for a visit just as all three of his ladies are transferred to faster jets, throwing his schedule into a tailspin.
Bertha -- Woman, 40 - 60. She is a housekeeper/cook. She helps her employer, Bernard, keep his three girlfriends from running into each other and cooks separate cuisines for each. She is vital to Bernard's way of life, so she feels free to show her opinions of his behavior and that of his girlfriends.
Janet -- Woman, 20s - 30s. American flight attendant. She is engaged to Bernard.
Judith -- Woman, 20s - 30s. German flight attendant, engaged to Bernard,
Jacqueline -- Woman, 20-30s. French flight attendant, engaged to Bernard.
ONE FLEA SPARE by Naomi Wallace
Dir: Angie Flynn-McIver
1st rehearsal: 3/24 Runs 4/15 - 5/3
PLOT: 1665, London. The plague rages through the city. A couple, the Snelgraves, has waited four weeks for their quarantine to end so that they can leave the city for safety. On the eve of their release, two people, a sailor and the daughter of a neighboring couple, sneak into their house. Spotted by guards, the boards on the Snelgraves' house are doubled, and the four of them are left to wait out another four weeks together.
Snelgrave - Man, 50s - Wealthy, powerful. His place in the cultural and social workd is secure--he is at the top of the food chain. The situation he finds himself in, i.e. quarantined with people from lower social classes, reinforces his understanding of them as less human than himself. He is distant from his wife, Darcy, who was severely burned in an accident when they were newlyweds. Love is not a power is his life.
Darcy -- Woman, 50 - . Darcy was badly burned when a young bride, trying to save her beloved horse from a fire. Ever since, she has been untouched by her husband or anyone else. She does not have children. Something in her yearns for connection and love, perhaps even passion.
Morse -- Girl, 12. (we are auditioning adults who read young for this role). Morse is clever, capable, and somewhat rebellious. She does not accept a rule simply because it is one, but questions. She is a survivor.
Bunce -- Man, late 20s - 30s. A sailor, Bunce spends his time working for cruel masters at a backbreaking job on the sea. He has seen a lot of the world, and has had more experiences than the Snelgraves have in their insulated life. He knows the value of listening and observing.
Kabe -- Man. Kabe guards the Snelgraves' house during the quarantine. He fetches things for them, and is ostensibly of a lower class, but he has the ultimate power--whether they may leave the house or not. Kabe is unrefined and coarse; he lunges after what he wants.
