Making the Connection
June 11 – July 13, 2008

Theme:  The show’s theme is Making the Connection, which is inspired by NC Stage’s Driving Miss Daisy.  All submissions should be based on this theme whether literal or abstract.  Artists may submit any 2-dimensional artwork that reflects this theme (painting, drawing, photography, collage, etc.)

About Driving Miss Daisy
Elderly Atlanta matron Daisy Werthan may be too old to drive, but she is too fiercely independent to want a chauffeur.  Nevertheless, her son hires Hoke Coleburn, and an unlikely friendship is born that will span decades and cross lines of race, class and gender. Beginning in 1948 and continuing through the Civil Rights movement, this beautifully spare play is a masterful depiction of the quiet power of human connection.
