It's A Wonderful Life
Since 2006, North Carolina Stage Company and Immediate Theatre Project have produced a delightful radio play version of It’s a Wonderful Life. The show has been an incredible hit in Asheville every year, earning raves from critics and audiences.
This year, we are pleased to present a brand new adaptation that restores several much beloved scenes from the original movie – including the “Charleston dance contest” scene – and gives a richer life to the hard-working radio actors struggling to bring you this classic tale of friendship, family, and the power of community in the face or financial hard times.
This show is now set to tour across the Southeast, and will be available between November 19, 2009 and December 22, 2009.
In this production, your facility is transformed into the studios of WVL Radio, and your audience is the live studio audience for a broadcast of "It’s a Wonderful Life". Resurrecting the vintage radio-drama formula, 4 actors take on over 35 roles and provide all the live sound effects needed to bring the story to life. In a unique twist, the "broadcast" includes an intermission/station break with an opportunity for a live advertisement, tailored to your sponsorships, performed by the actors in real time.
The show needs just a 25' by 10' space, and could even be played on the apron of a stage. This is also a very affordable show: discounts are available for performances on Monday,Tuesday or Wednesday, and for booking twice in one day. Provide your own housing for the actors, and the price drops even more!
