Immediate Theatre Project has been the Partner Company in Residence at NC Stage since 2008.
Immediate Theatre Project tells stories that illuminate our experience of living here and now.
Through professional productions, public readings, and other forms of engagement with our audience, they bring new life to American classics, expose Asheville to the best of contemporary drama, and develop new work with an eye to the future.
Since 2004, they have been producing in the NC Stage Catalyst Series (plays include All My Sons, On The Verge, and Oleanna); since 2008 they have been NC Stage’s official Partner Company in Residence. This means that, in addition to an annual tour of their original adaptation of It’s A Wonderful Life and other projects, they produce one play each year as part of our MainStage season. If you attended Dead Man’s Cell Phone, The Glass Menagerie, Circle Mirror Transformation, Shipwrecked!, Venus in Fur, or An Iliad at NC Stage, then you have already seen a bit of ITP’s work!
This season, ITP is producing Well on the NC Stage Mainstage.
