How to be a Human, or at Least Try features both published and unpublished short plays and monologues by critically acclaimed playwright/screen writer Bekah Brunstetter. The show weaves together the themes of love, kindness, loneliness, and hurt that drive the human desire for connection.

About the Artists:
Bekah Brunstetter (playwright), originally from Winston-Salem, NC, is a critically acclaimed playwright (The Cake, The Notebook), Emmy nominated television writer (This is Us),and Oprah-approved screenplay author (The Secret). She also bakes a mean pie and likes to be walking when you take her picture.
Erin McCarson (producer), originally from Yadkinville, NC, grew up with cows in her backyard.Erin has been acting for over three decades on stage, screen, commercial, and television, and recently relocated from New York City to Western North Carolina. She really loves her cats.
Josephine Thomas (producer), is an actor based in Asheville, NC. She has performed in various theatres in the region and some of her favorite roles include Nina in The Seagull (Mountain Art Theatre), Nina in Stupid F&$@ing Bird (Mountain Art Theatre) and Hermione in The Winter’s Tale (Haywood Arts Regional Theatre). She has most recently been seen at NC Stage as Juliet in Romeo & Juliet. She will never age out of playing Juliet.
