CHARACTER BREAKDOWNS

JEEVES INTERVENES

adapted by Margaret Raether

Directed by Angie Flynn-McIver

Production Dates – 9 Week Contract

Rehearses 1/11/22,  Previews 2/2/22,  Opens  2/5/22,  Closes 3/13/22

BERTIE WILBERFORCE WOOSTER (30s-40s)  An affluent bachelor with a tendency to get himself into tricky situations. Simply has not grown up and has little understanding of the world around him. Self-centered but very likable and harmless.

JEEVES (40s – 60s)  Bertie’s unflappable valet. Level headed. Always thinking 5 steps ahead. Long suffering but discreet and flawlessly mannered.

EUSTACE BASSINGTON-BASSINGTON (30s – 40s)  Bertie’s old school chum. Unlucky romantically, socially, and financially. Not the brightest bulb. Anxious and lacks tact especially when under pressure.

AGATHA SPENCER GREGSON (50s – 60s)  Bertie’s aunt.  A terrifying representative of the type of very opinionated English matriarch who can run an enormous household, meddle in her nephew’s life, and shoot partridges, probably all at the same time.  Impatient with what she sees as Bertie’s spinelessness and unwillingness to settle down.

SIR RUPERT WATLINGTON (60s-70s)  Eustace’s uncle and provider of his allowance. Gruff, former military in the grand British tradition.

GERTRUDE WINKLESWORTH-BODE (30-40s)  Aunt Agatha’s top pick for Bertie’s future wife. A strong woman within the social structure of the time. An intellect and self proclaimed “molder of men.” Recognizes the potential of Bertie as husband material.

THE LIFESPAN OF A FACT

by Jeremy Kareken, David Murrell, Gordon Farrell

Director TBD

Production Dates – 9 Week Contract

Rehearses  3/22/22,  Previews 4/13/22,  Opens 4/16/22,  Closes 5/22/22

JIM FINGAL (20s-30s) Fact checker. Earnest, well-intentioned and tireless. He does things to the letter of the law and is driven by rules, protocols, and facts. He has a confidence that he draws from knowledge and facts.

JOHN D’AGATA (40s – 50s)  One of the world’s greatest living essayists. Feels highly intelligent and often frustrated by lack of “vision” in others. Considers his work to be perfection and without need of editorial oversight. He doesn’t suffer fools and values beauty and creativity above all else.

EMILY PENROSE (40s – 50s)  Editor-in-Chief for a high profile Manhattan magazine. Her great ambition is to achieve cultural relevance and commercial success. She’s relentless in her professional pursuits, it’s all or nothing.
