Paul Sheldon has survived the crash — but he’s not sure that’s a good thing.

Rescued from a Colorado snowbank by his self-proclaimed number one fan, the bestselling romance novelist finds himself bedridden and dependent on Annie Wilkes, a devoted reader who offers to nurse Paul back to health. When Annie discovers that Paul has killed off her favorite character in his latest manuscript, his situation goes from dire to something much worse. Based on Stephen King’s novel and adapted for the stage by William Goldman, Misery is a white-knuckle battle of wills between a captive and his captor…and a darkly funny question about what we owe the people who love our work.

 

Know Before You Go (runtime, parking, etc.)

Runtime: Approximately 120 minutes, no intermission.

Lobby: The NC Stage lobby and concessions area will open one hour before showtime for your convenience.

Parking: Two Asheville city parking decks are located less than two blocks from the theatre. The Rankin Parking Garage is just past the theatre on the same side of Walnut Street. Harrah’s Cherokee Center Parking Garage is across the street. Street parking in downtown Asheville is free after 6pm and on Sundays.

  • Regular Adult Tickets: $30.50 – $57.50 ticket fees (including fees but not including tax; depending on chosen seat)
  • Student Tickets: $18.50 (including fees but not including tax;  18 and under/college and graduate students with student ID)
  • Choose Your Price Nights: All seats choose your price starting at $15.50 (including fees but not including tax):
